On May 19th 2018, Jarryd and Melanie shared their wedding day not only with loved ones and friends, but they also shared the day with with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry.
As the world gathered in front of their televisions to watch the royal wedding, Jarryd and Melanie’s nearest and dearest gathered together on the crisp Autumn afternoon to witness the marriage of their dear friends.
I had heard amazing things about Providence, a family owned and run wedding venue and had only ever photographed there once before, and it certainly didn’t disappoint. The venue was adorned with falling Autumn leaves and the weather was glorious.
Melanie was impeccably organised and she had lists and schedules for everything necessary. I was told of how she was fondly nicknamed “the Queen” by a few of her friends due to her air of grace and poise and timeliness, which coincidently tied in beautifully with the fact that it just so happened to be the day of the royal wedding!!
Jarryd and Melanie’s wedding decor was simple, timeless and elegant and so with that being said and in keeping with the royal inspired theme, I set out to approach the day by photographing it with a sense of timeless elegance in mind.
When I asked Jarryd and Melanie what their favourite part of their wedding day was, Melanie responded that it was the moment when she just accepted that the schedule would run smoothly and that she would love the day regardless of what happened. Jarryd said that his favourite part was taking photographs on the swing, which he felt captured their personalities wonderfully.
My personal favourite part was watching Jarryd turn around at the end of the aisle to see his bride walking towards him, the tears were streaming down his cheeks and Melanie was absolutely glowing.
Wishing you a wonderful marriage Mr and Mr Streicher!
